The Artwork of David Skora
The Artwork of David Skora
"Red Seed" is a profound exploration of potential and growth, captured in the interplay of form and color. The sculpture, primarily rendered in stark white and black, serves as a canvas for the vibrant red sphere suspended at its center. This sphere, the "seed," symbolizes the core of life and creativity, bursting with energy and possibility.
The contrasting monochromatic elements frame the red sphere, drawing the viewer's eye inward and evoking a sense of curiosity and contemplation. The deliberate use of color underscores the theme of emergence and transformation, highlighting the tension between containment and release. "Red Seed" invites viewers to reflect on the latent power within us all, the inherent drive to grow and evolve, and the beauty that arises from embracing our potential.
In this work, I aim to celebrate the dynamic interplay between stillness and movement, simplicity and complexity, and the ever-present possibility of new beginnings.
"Nexus, Double Orb" is a celebration of connection and harmony through geometry and color. This vibrant steel sculpture features three red semicircles facing each other, creating a dynamic circular form that symbolizes unity and dialogue. Within this circle, a symmetrical arrangement of yellow shapes intersects in a wheel-like pattern, culminating in a striking blue core at the center.
The interplay of these bold colors and geometric forms evokes a sense of movement and energy, drawing viewers into its rhythmic dance. The sturdy blue base elevates the sculpture, lending it both height and stability, while emphasizing its modern and abstract design. "Nexus, Double Orb" explores the balance between structure and fluidity, inviting contemplation on the interconnectedness of form and space.
Through this piece, I aim to inspire a sense of wonder and curiosity, encouraging viewers to find harmony in the juxtaposition of bold colors and dynamic shapes.
"Falling Curves" is an exploration of the interplay between rigidity and fluidity, form and color. This modern outdoor sculpture features a tall, vertical black metal column as its backbone, a symbol of stability and strength. Attached at intervals along this column are colorful, curved metal segments in vibrant hues of red, blue, yellow, and green. These segments introduce a playful and dynamic contrast to the geometric and clean lines of the black column.
The juxtaposition of the rigid vertical form with the fluid, falling curves creates a visual tension that evokes a sense of movement and liveliness. The bright colors of the curved segments catch the eye, drawing viewers into a dialogue with the sculpture and encouraging them to experience it from different angles.
"Falling Curves" invites contemplation on the balance between order and spontaneity, structure and playfulness. Through this piece, I aim to inspire joy and curiosity, highlighting the beauty that emerges from the harmony of contrasting elements in our environment.
